Free Campaign of the Month: Grow Your Social Following

If every single person on your email list is also following you on social media, you can stop reading right now and have a great day! Otherwise, keep reading because connecting with people on a variety of different channels is very important; email is only one channel to communicate and build relationships. The more places you can connect with people, the stronger and more powerful the relationship can become.

Think about your best friend for a second: How many different ways do you interact with them? Chances are you have their phone number, email address (or two), mailing address, and have them added as a friend on multiple social media platforms. When it comes to truly fostering meaningful relationships with people, social media is a fantastic method. It allows people to know you as intimately as you want since you control how much information is available. Plus, it is very suited for open conversation. Yes, people can reply to the emails you send, but even that takes more effort than liking or leaving a comment. To celebrate Social Media Week, I am quite pleased to share with you the free Campaign of the Month for February 2014: Grow Your Social Following.

Grow Your Social Following Campaign Model

This campaign's purpose is to simply invite people to follow you on a particular social network. The campaign tracks if someone clicks through to view your social profile and also gives them an opportunity to let you know they don't use that particular platform. The "Follow Me" sequence contains two emails: one that goes out immediately and a reminder invitation that goes out on a Saturday morning since many people use social on their downtime over the weekends. You can configure the campaign for the social platform of your choice.

Who can use it?

Any Infusionsoft customer can download any campaign from the Infusionsoft Marketplace. However, since this campaign is for intended to build your social media audience, it would be best suited for businesses that already have an active social presence. If you don't have an active social presence, but you are intending to start, this can also help you with establishing followers when you begin. This works well with B2B and B2C business as social media can work for both types of business.

Anything else I should know, Paul?

Since this campaign is triggered from a tag, you can easily connect it to your existing campaigns. Assuming you are active on social, I feel this campaign should come into play for everyone once they make it so far down your funnel. Why not grow your following? For example, let’s say someone makes it all the way through your prospect funnel and never purchases. This might be a good opportunity to add an extra tag step at the very end which kicks off this social invitation. Or maybe after someone becomes a customer, this is one of the first things we do after fulfilling on the product/service they purchased. For increased effectiveness, be sure to offer a benefit for people to follow you. Stand in their shoes for a moment and imagine that they are following all these brands and people (actually, 300 on average). What can you do to improve their experience? Think about what you publish on social media that is exclusive. Be creative, unique and helpful.
