Free Campaign of the Month: Direct Mail Leads with Infusionsoft

Here at Infusionsoft, our whole purpose is very simple, "To help small businesses succeed." Earlier this year, we took a big step towards making it easier for small businesses to succeed by opening up a bunch of free campaigns in our Marketplace. These marketing blueprints are built using proven tactics and strategies so that way you can feel confident implementing them quickly with minimal effort. Now that the initial dust on the Marketplace has settled, it is time to start adding more free campaigns at regular intervals and today I'm elated to share the campaign of the month for September 2013, Attract Traffic Using Direct Mail.

The purpose of this campaign is to drive interested leads to either call or opt-in for an outbound phone call to learn more about a particular product or service from a physical letter in the mail. While there are many digital channels out there, direct mail (done properly) can still be a very effective way to drive traffic. We figured this would be a great campaign to flex our non-email muscles :) This campaign features a pre-authored direct mail skeleton which means you just have to "fill in the blanks." The skeleton contains all the critical elements of a sales letter so you can feel confident to mail it. The landing page also uses the same "blanks" so that the messaging is consistent across channels (letter and online). When somebody opts in, the campaign assigns an outbound task to call the person. This way, you just have to send the letters and then watch your task queue -- how easy

Who can use it?

Any Infusionsoft customer can download any campaign from the Infusionsoft Marketplace. However, since this campaign is for direct mail, it at least requires a list of people with mailing addresses. This can be a purchased list of new leads or a list of old customers (where maybe the product being promoted is new) or maybe just a list of prospects who didn't close when going through the sales process the first time. It can work with either B2B or B2C businesses and as far as industry, it would probably work better for a service-based industry like a plumber or dentist. I suppose you could use it for a product-based business, but I'd recommend using it for high ticket items since it does cost more to send a physical mailer than an email.

Anything else I should know, Paul?

This campaign assumes you are going to fulfill on the printing and mailing of the letters in-house. If you have a print service, you can easily modify this campaign to send a Fulfillment step instead of a Letter step (depending on the service, you may or may not be able to customize the recipient's first name; talk to them about it).
