Ignition: How to Organize Your Business Finances [VIDEO]

Created with Sketch.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with how to manage your business finances, take a moment to pat yourself on the back – you have business finances! Now to the nitty gritty: how do you ensure that your business is financially responsible for you and your employees?

It’s something you have to address even if you aren’t a numbers person, so we asked Raj Thakkar, CEO and founder of FOREsight Financial Services For Good, to take the Ignition hot seat and tell us how businesses can manage finances.

Raj had tons of great tips. First, he said, you have to make sure you have internal controls and checks and balances.

Businesses of any size should also be doing annual projections and comparing against actual revenue, Raj said, as well as mitigating your tax burden. He also recommended what to look for in a CPA.

Top three things to know about Ignition:

1. Have a question for us? Email [email protected]

2. We think our guests are amazing. But as part of a running joke (OK half joke) and an aspiration, we’re putting it out there that we’d love Elon Musk as a guest.

3. We air a new episode every Wednesday here and on YouTube.
