Recently, I had a conversation with a small business owner. After speaking for several minutes about how he could grow his business, he said, “You know what? I’m just going to wait out the recession.” Well, you can guess my reaction to that comment.

You know, when it comes right down to it, YOU create your own stability. You can’t count on an improvement in the economy. You can’t count on a miracle solution to drive the growth of your business. The only thing you can count on is the work YOU do.

In this economy, the best thing you can do is just buckle down. Keep building those relationships with your customers and prospects. Find affiliates and partners to promote you. Use social media. And…make sure you’ve automated everything you can, so you have time to focus your attention on the big picture.

This is not the first time the economy has dipped. Nor will it be the last. But the true entrepreneur keeps driving toward their goals…and finds a way to achieve them!
