Dear Friend,

Last week, I spent a full day with Dan Kennedy at his home in Cleveland discussing marketing.  Two weeks ago, I sat with Michael Gerber and discussed his business and ours for several hours.  Both experiences were amazing.

As you probably know, Dan and Michael are two of the leading authorities on the subject of building small business.  They know what it takes for entrepreneurs to build a successful company.  Business building is one of my favorite topics, so it was really fun to talk with them and soak up their wisdom.  I want to share with you a couple of things that stood out to me.

First of all, Dan Kennedy and Michael Gerber are both very smart marketers.  They know what works.  They know what doesn’t work.  And they’ve seen it all.  But it’s not just their marketing knowledge that makes them great business builders.

Both men also know that systems are essential to building a successful small business.  Whether it’s a system for marketing, sales or customer service, the system drives the success and the sustainability of a business.  Dan and Michael are both huge proponents of systems.

The big takeaway for me was that the real magic of building a business comes in the convergence of these two disciplines: marketing and systems.  When a small business effectively markets its product or service and uses systems to accomplish that marketing, growth comes quickly… and the business is stable because of the underlying systems.

The cool thing is, this is exactly what Infusion Software is all about: combining effective marketing with automated systems that help our customers to build their businesses quickly.  I love what we do!  And I love seeing our customers’ businesses grow as they implement and effectively use our software.

I am excited about the progress we’re making at Infusion.  We are adding new features, improving the user experience and providing more support and service tools to help you successfully build your business.

I encourage you to dig in to the marketing and systemization of your business.  Like Dan and Michael, I know that your business will skyrocket when you focus on these two important disciplines.

Usage Thresholds

In order to ensure your CRM is working as efficiently as it can, we have established usage thresholds across the board for all of our clients, as outlined in the updated End User License Agreement sent out in March.

Usage thresholds will serve as indicators that it is time to upgrade your CRM or one of its related modules. The thresholds have been defined in conjunction with our development and systems experts, so that we could truly understand the point at which upgrades are not only beneficial but necessary to keep your CRM working the way it’s meant to.

Exceeding the usage thresholds may subject you to email overage fees and/or an upgrade to the Infusion CRM Enterprise edition, including upgraded email services.

If you choose you can of course manage your CRM in such a way as to stay below usage thresholds. This information is provided to you only in the event that you actually exceed the thresholds.

  • Number of Contact Records: 150,000

  • Number of Concurrent Users: 25

  • Number of Emails Sent Per Month: 150,000

Our Support team will be reviewing your CRM account against the thresholds, and will be in contact with you if it is necessary to upgrade.

As Infusion Software continues to grow and we have an ever increasing number of clients, you will see more initiatives like this one – initiatives that increase consistency and stability and strengthen our foundation so we can support huge growth over the years to come. New Release Features

Spring is the time of year when things finally start heating up. This is the perfect time to take your business to the next level of the CRM. To help you do this we have decided to make some major enhancements to your CRM. Since Spring is a great time to appreciate the beauty around you, we have decided it is a perfect time to improve the look and layout of the CRM. These enhancements will not only make the CRM more appealing to your eyes, they will also make it easier to navigate to the features you need to use. If the idea of change scares you, don't worry because all of the changes we have made will help you navigate around much more easily and you'll be used to it in no time.

Remember, you may experience up to 1 hour of downtime on April 5th from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am Pacific Time so that we can update the system with these features. The next time you log into your CRM after 12:00 am, you will have access to the upgrades.

If you don’t already know Marc Chesley, our VP of Development, or even if you do know him, keep reading now to learn about how passionate Marc is about his job here at Infusion and why the things that he and his team are doing every day are so significant to you and your business.

Marc recently sent out an internal communication that, when I read it, made me immediately think of our clients and how much they would love to have this information. What Marc said that was so attention-grabbing had to do with our servers: “The systems group is building our servers on a SuperMicro base platform with 16 Gigabytes of memory, two dual core AMD Opteron CPUs (quad core) per server, 10,000 RPM SAS hard disks in a RAID 5 configuration, dual gigabit network adapters, IPMI remote management capable with redundant fans and power supplies.”

My first thought, upon reading that, was “What does that even mean?” In a nutshell, it means that we are always looking for the best servers to provide the ultimate service to our clients. And not only servers, but all aspects of our technical infrastructure. It is critical to us that you, our clients, know we are on the right track with our hardware and software advancement.

Over the next few years our systems team will continue to keep Infusion Software on the leading edge of highly available server platforms, and we can count on Marc Chesley to lead us there!

Employee of the Month & ROWAN Award Recipient

On the first Friday of every month, we all get together here at Infusion Software for a brief company meeting, where we review department and strategic updates, success stories, hear from guest speakers and generally make sure we are all on the same page.

We learn a lot and have a great time, because during that meeting we also name the Employee of the Month and the Rowan Award Recipient. Both the EOM and the Rowan award winners are driven, motivated employees who lead others by way of example, are highly successful and worthy of recognition by their peers and Infusion executives.

We’d like to start telling you who these winners are, so you can get to know us all a little bit better.

Employee of the Month:
Cody Jones

Cody is the employee of the month for exceeding his monthly sales goals – in fact he broke the record!  He shot the goal right out of the ballpark with his exceptional ability to talk to clients about their needs and really understand them and fit them with the right products and services on a consistent basis.

“I have been at Infusion Software for 2.5 years and I love helping people to automate their businesses and as a result make lots of money. Infusion Software has to be one of the coolest places to work because we are allowed so much room to be creative and get our jobs done. Also, there is a ton of room for growth so there is always incentive to perform. I love meeting people and helping them to solve their problems.
